Itinerary of the Yatra
Day 1: Departure ( Bengaluru/Bangalore)
The Pilgrimage Begins at Amritsar (Punjab)
- Fly from Bangalore to Amritsar.
- Check into your hotel, freshen up, and have breakfast.
- Visit the Golden Temple, a significant Sikh shrine.
- Explore Jallianwala Bagh, a memorial to the 1919 massacre.
- Enjoy local sightseeing in Amritsar.
- After lunch, proceed to the Wagah (Attari) Border to witness the border closing ceremony.
- Return to your hotel in Amritsar for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Amritsar to Katra (via Jammu)
- After breakfast, travel from Amritsar to Jammu.
- Visit the Raghunath Temple in Jammu.
- Have lunch and continue to Katra, the base camp for the Vaishno Devi Yatra.
- Obtain your Yatra Parchi (registration slip) in Katra. This is mandatory for the pilgrimage.
- Have dinner and stay overnight in Katra.
Day 3: Vaishno Devi Darshan
- Early in the morning (optional: have tea or coffee), begin the trek to the Vaishno Devi Bhawan for Mata Rani’s darshan. You can walk, hire a pony, or take a palanquin. Helicopter services are also available to Sanjichhat, which is closer to the Bhawan.
- After the darshan, visit the Bhairon Nath Temple (it is customary to visit this temple after the Mata Vaishno Devi darshan).
- Return to your hotel in Katra.
- Have dinner and stay overnight.
Day 4: Katra to Patni Top (via Shiv Khori)
- After breakfast, travel to Shiv Khori, a cave shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva. Have darshan and lunch there.
- Proceed to Patni Top, a popular hill station known for its scenic beauty.
- Check into your hotel in Patni Top, have dinner, and stay overnight.
Day 5: Patni Top to Bangalore (Arrival)
Time for shopping, and syncing with the experience of holy trip
- After breakfast, enjoy half a day of sightseeing in Patni Top.
- Check out of your hotel and transfer to Jammu Airport (or the nearest convenient airport) for your flight back to Bangalore.
